What sport I would do in the Ancient Olympics

What sport I would do in the ancient olympics
I think that I would do horse chariot racing because I love horses and all other animals, and because I think that it wouldn't have much physical because all i’m do is sitting on a chair going really fast. Also I think that I would have good grip of the rope connected to the horse. ( forgot what the rope connected to the horse is called ).

  1. Hi Charlie!

Welcome to the Winter Learning Journey. I am so happy to see that you have joined our holiday blogging programme. That's wonderful!

I am also really happy to see that you have decided to choose chariot racing. I think that you are very brave as it is actually one of the more dangerous ancient Olympic sports. Apparently the charioteer (the person driving the chariot) had to be particularly strong and agile in order to both steer the chariot and stay upright while racing at high speeds. It must have been quite thrilling to watch as a spectator!

I did a little bit of research to see if I could find the proper name for the rope that connected the horse to the charioteer but, sadly, I couldn't find a site that provided me with that information. I expect that it was just called a bridle or a rope...

Look forward to reading more of your posts over the next two weeks. Keep up the great work!

    Cheers, Rachel
