Pativai's Day 2 Activity 2

Activity 2
One of the most popular activities in Madrid, the capital city of Spain, is called ‘Bullfighting.’ It has been a part of Spanish culture for centuries. In bullfighting people called ‘toreros and ‘matadors’ fight with a live bull. The toreros do most of the fighting and, ultimately, capture the bull and tie it up. Once it has been caught, the matador joins the fight and kills the bull. Although most toreros and matadors are men, there are some women who also compete in the sport.
Not everyone supports bullfighting in Spain. In fact, about 30% of the population want it to be banned (stopped) completely. What do you think? On your blog tell us whether or not you think that bullfighting should be banned in Spain. Please provide, at least, two reasons to support your decision.

I think that bull fighting should not be banned because there is only 30% that want's it to be banned what about everyone else it won't be fair to everyone else why because you are just depending it on some people, sure some other people across the world wants it to be banned some people are unsure and some people just want to carry bull fighting on, well I think we should listen to those people who wants to carry on bull fighting hear what they have to say and if the people who don't want to keep bull fighting you don't have to see watch or do anything to have to do with bull fighting.

we should carry on the tradition of bull fighting maybe the bulls might of had gotten loose so they need to be locked in a secure steel stadium, we need to make sure that we can keep the people who don't want the bull fighting to go happy the opposition side happy to so we have a fair fight for everyone in Spain and we need to keep the people who are entertaining happy and the bull happy to.

  2. Tēnā Koe Pativai!

I really enjoyed reading your answer! What an interesting perspective. So what you are saying is that we should listen to the people of Spain!

In New Zealand, when we put down our cows and bulls to make meat, we do it as quickly as possible so they do not feel much fear or pain. It is called being humane towards animals, and sometimes called animal rights.

I am not sure if you have ever seen a full bull fight, but the matador dances with the bull, just like in the cartoons, but then he injures it until it passes away, which is not like in the cartoons. I also wonder how fair the fight it really is. BUT at the very same time I really like what you said about people outside of Spain trying to tell Spain what to do! That was a very mature statement and I am not sure you realise how profound that really is.

70% of the country wanting to keep this tradition is very important. So even though I think that bull fighting is cruel, it has to be Spains decision to stop it, not mine.

    Very, very interesting answer, Pativai,

Keep up this level of depth, great answers!
