Pativai's Activity 1 Day 3

Day 3 - Buying a ticket
Now that you have chosen your country it is time to start planning your trip. One of the first things you will need to do is to buy an airplane ticket. There are many, many airlines that fly around the world. Some of the most common are:
Air Canada Air New Zealand

Emirates             Air Asia

When you get onto the airplane you will be asked to watch a short safety video that tells you how to stay safe when flying in a plane. Arguably, the best aiplane safety videos are produced by Air New Zealand.
Activity 1
Watch both of the current Air New Zealand safety videos. The first is a video that stars the All Blacks. The second is a video that stars Rhys Darby and Anna Faris (Hollywood actress).  Links for the videos are found below:
Air New Zealand Men In Black’ video
Air New ZealandSafety in Hollywood’ video
Once you have finished watching the videos, go to your blog and list three things that you need to do to stay safe on an airplane.

1 . Make sure that when you see the seat belt sign glows you need to put your seat belt on and when you need to get up just pull onto the lift buckle you can also tighten the seat belt by pulling onto the black loose belt connected to the buckle.

2 . When a oxegen mask come down place the strap over your head and then the two elastics on the side of the mask. Make sure that you do your mask befor your mates.

3. When a emergency is about to happen you need to make sure that you take the life jacket on the side or under your seat. Rip the bag open by pulling on the red tab take the life jacket out and buckle the life jacket up. when exiting the plane pull on the red tag and for more air in the life jacket blow into the tube. There are life jacket for the smaller ones.

  1. Kia Ora,

Great work, Pativai. It is clear that you're listening very carefully to the videos and understanding how important those messages are.

Are there any more suggestions you might have for safety rules for planes?

Also, a science question for you: Do you think it is possible to open a plane door while it is flying?

    Ki kaha,

    Mark
