Unfortunately I myself have not been to Wellington, but I were to go there i would love to visit a place called mission inflatable, this is a indoor inflatable world with lots of activities all to do with inflatable things. I would also like to visit jumparama and you may be thinking “ why would she go there we have lots of those here in auckland” well this is not the same as the others this jump park has more then just tramps it  also has a rock climbing wall to jump off in the foam pit and that the jump walls and 2x bigger then the ones here this also has a lot more tramps then the ones here.

Activity 2

One of the most popular activities in Madrid, the capital city of Spain, is called ‘Bullfighting.’ It has been a part of Spanish culture for centuries. In bullfighting people called ‘toreros and ‘matadors’ fight with a live bull. The toreros do most of the fighting and, ultimately, capture the bull and tie it up. Once it has been caught, the matador joins the fight and kills the bull. Although most toreros and matadors are men, there are some women who also compete in the sport.

Not everyone supports bullfighting in Spain. In fact, about 30% of the population want it to be banned (stopped) completely. What do you think? On your blog tell us whether or not you think that bullfighting should be banned in Spain. Please provide, at least, two reasons to support your decision.

I agree that bullfighting should be banned because I think when they are waving the flag of whatever it is, I personally think that this is teasing the bulls and even though some people are afraid because of their big horns that does not mean that the bull should be treated like that. Did they ever think of asking the bull before they pull them out of there own habitat. I also thing that this is a very dangerous this because when they make the bull aggressive It will charge and may hurt you. That is why I think that bullfighting should be banned.

I have chosen chile because of the beautiful scenery and because of how many holidays there are. Did you know that chile has  14 national holidays ( You know that means that we lot of time of school)

Debate: Children over the age of 8 should be allowed to vote

We finished off last term with a bang! Well, actually a court session. A court session which involved debating four hot topics which the learners had constructed, researched and planned debates around. 

Each debate lasted 8 - 12 minutes and each team worked together to peer assess the other teams using this rubric.

Charlies Bug Persuasive Writing

This activity was about persuasive text. We have to write our point of view here is mine. This piece was about if we should or should not eat bugs in our diet.   point of view - I think we should eat bugs

You might look at bugs and scream, especially if you see one in your food, but actually around 2 billion people eat bugs. Mostly people from poor countries, and some cultures eat bugs for all meals! I Think that eating bugs is a good idea because it is way healthier than livestock, it is really cheap to farm or even free, and it causes less greenhouse gases than farming meat!

Firstly farming bugs is very cheap because it take 22000 Liters of water to farm 1 kilogram of Beef ,  3500  Liters of water to farm 1 kilogram of pork, 2300 liters of water to farm 1 kilogram g of chicken and It takes 1 liter of water to farm 1 kilogram of cricket. Secondly Bugs are a lot more edible then chicken of beef. You can eat 80% of a bugs while you can eat 50% of a chicken and 40% of cow, and guess what it takes 200 square meters to grow 1 pound of beef and it only takes 15 square meters to grow 1 pound of cricket.

Now if you compare 100g of cricket compared to 100gs of meat     you might  find that they have almost the exact amount of protein in each of them . Also crickets contains a lot of vitamins and minerals like calcium,  zinc and iron        

Also similar the ,mealworm contains mostly fibre as well.

Cricket is and lots of other bugs are also good to eat because of the greenhouse gases. When farming cows there are lots of greenhouse gases.greenhouse gases are caused when the cows fart. Also bugs don’t fart or maybe only a little bit .

What part of my exhibition am I most proud of ?

I am proud of how many people like the makey makey and I am also proud of how my display looked !

What feedback did I get from the visitors last night ?

People said things like That's amazing or Wow and How does it do that

What part of my exhibition am I most proud of ?

The only thing that I would change Is putting something on the table that tells everyone how to use the makey makey when we're not there.

Who would I think to thank for supporting me in my breakthrough learning ?

I woulds like to thank my mum for helping me because she went and got us the lights for our exhibition   . I would also like to thank my teachers for teaching us more about the makey makey and helping for helping us when we were stuck.

What area of the graduate profile do you think you have grown the most? And Why? (Building Learning Capacity, Making Meaning, Collaboration, Breakthrough

I think I have most grown in collaborating because I have been stretched to work with someone other then my friends and so now I can work with more people then just my friends!

Charlie's Tsunami Writing

Tsunamis

A tsunami is a japanese word meaning harbor wave. It can travel at a speed of 800 Kilometers per hour. When it reaches the shore decreases in speed and increases in height it can rise to a height of 100 feet tall.

A Tsunami is formed by underwater earthquakes and underwater volcanic eruptions. Tsunamis are also known as a tidal wave but is nowhere near related to the tidal activity caused by the sun and moon.a tsunami is basically just a bigger version of a normal wave They have a trough and a crest and both move by the energy in the water . The only Difference is where the energy comes from.

Some of the warning signs for a tsunami are the buoys in the when a tsunami is is travelling under it through the water or around it though the water the buoys will start to move rapidly through the water. There is also something called a seismograph which some scientists use to detect tsunamis early.

Here are five facts about tsunamis

Fact #1 Tsunamis are huge waves of water that are usually caused by Underwater earthquakes or underwater volcanic eruptions.

Fact #2 When tsunamis hit shallow water they slow down but increase in height.

Fact #3 Tsunami is a japanese word meaning Harbor wave

Fact #4 Tsunamis can travel at a speed of 500 Miles an hour

Fact #5 If caught by a tsunami wave, it is better not to swim, but rather to grab a floating object and allow the current to carry you.

Day 7 Bonus Activity

I think that this is a good sport  for the Olympic games. Hope you like it!

This sport is called Throw and Wheel

Throw and wheel is for people in wheelchairs in the game the contestants start on a line with three bean bags they have to throw one bean bag into each hop if they miss then they don't get one of the extra points. Then after all three bean bags have been thrown  then contestants have to start doing 3 shuttle on their way the contestants have to wheel over each hop and they have to keep their wheelchair on the hop for 10 seconds the continue

Rule 1 - the contestants have to stay on the hop for ten seconds

Rule 2 - the contestants must do three shuttles

Rule 3 - the contestants have to throw underarm into the hops

Day 7 Activity - 2

The first thing me and my friends could do is do a bake sale at the school fair or some other special occasion like that. We have a very big school at 500 - 600 students we could earn at the max 1100 dollars

The second thing I could do with family is a garage sale and we could sell all our old books clothes and toy and other unneeded stuff.

Day 7 Activity -1

If I was doing para-cycling I would chose one of my very good friends Isabelle. Here is why

I would chose Isabelle because she is very funny but also supportive she is also very fit and can run really fast and she would also when I would nervous about it so the she can boost my confidence. I would chose Isabelle also because she is very good with bikes and can go really fast she lives in far away from our school but she bikes from her house to school and from school back to her house.

DAY 6 - bonus

I am sitting in the stadium and all the athletes are parading around in their uniforms when suddenly… a giant tried to jump into over the stadium for fun but he missed and ended up landing in the stadium.  The ground shook with a great thud like there was an huge earthquake.  The athletes began to scamper with fear.  I was in the crowd and I started screaming.  Then everyone else in the crowd joined me.  The giant starting blushing with embarrassment.  And then he said to the crowd “calm down, calm down, I come in peace”.  

“How do we know you come in peace?” said a policeman who was in the crowd.  

The giant said “I am sorry, I was just practicing my pole vault over the stadium”.  Ever since he was little the giant wanted to be in the Olympics.

The the policeman said “then why don’t you do the Giant Olympics?”

“Giants don’t have Olympics” said the giant.  Then the children in the crown cheered “Come and do the Olympics with us!”.  All the adults joined in.

Then he blushes for the second time and says “really?”.  After a lot of blushing and cheering the people who were running the Olympics agree.  From that day forward he was on the team and he won a medal every time.

DAY 6 - Activity 2

At the Olympics in NZ I think that John Key would be the best person to participate in the opening ceremony because he is one of the most important people in NZ. He makes a lot of decisions and he needs to be there.

He may not be the prime minister in 2024 anymore, but I still think he should go because he has done a lot for NZ.

He could welcome all the different countries prime ministers and organise some of the entertainment.

DAY 6 - Activity 1 Uniform ranking

Here is my new zealand uniform Ratings

My Number 1 uniform is option number 3 Because I think this is the most modern looking.I like the style and I like that the whole women’s outfit is black with a white fern rather than the trousers being a different colour.

My number 2 uniform is option number 2 because  it still has the fern on it but it is a bit big and old fashioned looking.  I also don’t like the combination of the colours on the top of grey, black, and white.  Plus the silver fern is not all white.

My number 3 uniform is option 1 because it doesn’t have the silver fern.  The top looks a bit like they work in a bank not going to the olympics.  I also don’t like the scarf around the ladies.
