Connor’s mom went to the art competition her mom’s artwork was a mirror, and Connor says she want to play around with her mom’s last work it was an amazing car it can shows lots of thing, after that she went to the art competition to meet her mom then she saw a monster Gorgon she go look at the Mipod Xlit can tell what monster is it and what could it do. It says Gorgon is a danger monster if you look at it’s eyes it will make you into a stone but if it see herself in the mirror it can turn everything back so she use the mirror on her mom’s artwork to turn everything back.  

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Yes because some of my friends like the fantasy story.

In 1975 there were only 104 people, 192 pigs, 80 cows and 28 chickens live in within the town limits they don’t have the strong house and they don’t have the market and they also don’t have lots of things that New Zealand has they had to go fishing if they want to eat fish the children in there they had to help their family do the work.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Yes because it tells you how poor is the children in Incas and it also can tells you how lucky you are.

Billie and her friend dare each other to explore the spooky house at the end of the street. They are sure it’s haunted. But they thought Billie was lying about some spooky things in the house so they don’t trust Billie anymore. Billie showed them the ghost in the house so they keep adventure about it. At the end they saw a woman she says there is no ghost just the spider web hanging around.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Yes because it was a good book about adventure.

The butterfly Effect By Charlie

This is my finished chapter of the book The Butterfly Effect.For writing we had to add a chapter to this book because we all though it did not really have an ending. Hope You Enjoy

As the cocoon slowly opened Emily and Henry Both held up there fly spray even higher and They waited and waited and ten seconds after The cocoon cracked open dramatically with a burst of light. Unsurprisingly to Emily and Henry Mrs Anderson was still not very pretty she had improved a little but it was not very noticeable apart from the fact the she now had black and white wings with a whitish gray dress.”Now” Shouted Henry sharply, Emily and Henry both sprayed there fly spray as much as they could till mrs anderson dropped faintly. “Yes”said to herself quietly. “Why?” asked Mrs Anderson weakly “ Why Me? Why Now?”   “Wha  what do you m mean”  Stammered Henry In a confused voice. But Mrs Anderson just stared back politely then she finally said I'm so sorry I was mean I just just ah It was Part of My my my…. Mrs anderson trailed off,  not finishing her sentence. Henry and Emily both knelt down to help mrs anderson up and then helped her sit up right on the chair, and gave her a glass of water.After that she felt much better and explained the whole story to them, Apparently Mrs Anderson had to be mean to them and have a big amount of food to become a butterfly and that she was actually really nice.

Butterfly effect

I have been writing a chapter that I wrote for the book butterfly effect by Stephanie Matuku and the character inference chart next to it. I have drawn a picture of Mrs Anderson when she comes out of the cocoon.

Suddenly, the cocoon was shaking and it became pale and dull, it started to open slowly. Emily said  sternly in a shocked voice “Do you think that she will get us, once she has turned into a butterfly.” Then Henry replied “Yes I think so, because she doesn’t like us at all.” The cocoon started shaking even more, then all of a sudden a lady butterfly came out with pink faded wings and a butterfly gray dress. Mrs Anderson said softly and nicely to Emily and Henry  “Come on Henry and Emily I am taking you to the, shops to celebrate my success,”  then they thought how would she go to the shops without anyone knowing that she was a butterfly lady.They both noticed something different about Mrs Anderson. The thing they didn’t know was that once Mrs Anderson had turned into the butterfly she had became nicer,  because butterflies were nice.

When Mrs Anderson became a butterfly, she was an ugly butterfly, she had black wings and gray body. “Mrs Anderson” Emily said it worriedly. Mrs Anderson turned off light and was flying around the house she didn’t want anybody to see her ugly wings. “Do not turn the light on” Mrs Anderson said softly. Suddenly Emily and Henry heard the strange sound “Is it a ghost?” Henry screamed, Emily turned the light on and they saw Mrs Anderson had  black wings and gray body, “What are you doing Mrs Anderson?” they asked curiously. Mrs Anderson was very angry and they also can see the smoke blowing out of her ears. Mrs Anderson quickly turned the light off again, and Mrs Anderson got out of the window and got back to her own spooky house.

Pativai's How To Make A Double Waka

Equipment  :

• Help from adult

• Dry flower flax stalk

• kebabs sticks
  

• Scissors

• Sticky tape or glue gun

• Craft knife

• A chopping board

• Paper

• Colouring pens

1 . Break off two dry flower flax stalk

2 . Have a adult cut it with an crafting knife into long pieces on an chopping board. This optional if you want to do this then shape the end of the flax stalk.

3 . Glue or push your kebab stick through both of the flax stalk to make the waka, if you are gluing it I prefer using an glue gun instead of tape. If you are pushing it through I prefer you can push it through only an little bit or if pushing it all the way, cut off the end. This will hold the waka together.

4 . Glue an kebab stick on each of the dry flower flax and push it so the ends meet to make an triangle.

5 . Draw an design on a paper for the sail then cut out and glue it onto the triangle for the sail.

6 . Test it out and see if your double waka can float.

I hope you can make your own double waka maybe with different equipment, instructions and maybe different designs for your sail and double waka.

This is my animal's at war poster. The part I love about this poster is that the information that, can give the reader a bit of information about that specie. I put in there name and a little description, of them in the box for the information for the animal's. There were heap's of different kinds of animal's that went to world war one, there were horses dogs and even donkey's.

Faith's postcard for Reaching Ray's Rock

In this graph it shows Dean's feelings from the start of the story to the end of the story. At first he felt confident but when his Dad said to him that the weather was bad his confidence began to go away. Then he felt really worried but when he was half way up the mountain his confidence came back but he fell down. When he got back up he pushed him self and started to say chants to keep his confidence up. When they had reached the top of the mountain he was very proud and that was the end of the story.

At the Being of the story it is up because he does dont know about the thunder storm.Then its hits the unsure emotion because it is up to dean to decide wether they should turn back or not.Then it goes down to Scared and worried beacase he falls down in the snow and hits himself on a rock that is siting on the ground. Try reading the story to figure out the rest of the points on this drawing.

Reaching Rays rock

WALHT: Empathise with a character in a story.

When we finished reading the book and having sometime to chat we had to, create a postcard from Dad to Dean or Dean to Dad, reflecting on the experience and how it has changed Dean for the better. The second activity we had to do was a beginning, middle to end emotion activity. We had to consider how Dean was feeling throughout the story. In the begging dean was feeling happy because it was his first time hiking up a real mountain. The middle was about him saying "How about a picture!" and him thinking about the weather made him feel bad. The end was about he reached Rays rock and seeing how far they have made.

Dean (The main character) at first when he was going to climb Ray’s Rock he was feeling happy then, the weather started to change and he started to feel unsure if he really wanted to climb the mountain.When he took his chance he started climbing and started to feel worried because of the weather.He started to feel really good about himself so he wanted to take an photo but they had to keep on going otherwise it would get worse.He felt proud of himself that he got to get near the top of Ray’s Rock.

This postcard that I wrote was to dean from dad for there adventure climbing up to Ray's Rock.He had so much fun and sometimes he was feeling happy sometimes he was feeling scared and sometimes he felt happy an scared at the same time .

Opinion about farming fish

What is your opinion on the topic you read about?

• I like the topic because it talks about how they solve their problems on bad days
• I like the topic because it can solve problems to other islands that are in the same condition as solomon island

How do you feel about the issue?

• It is a bad issue because there are people who only depend on fish on the island
• They solved the problem by make 3 pond with pipes going through them to fill it up with water.Then they added fish.

Are there any moral issues present?

• There might be a water drought if the pipes are blocked and that will create a bigger problem because the fish would die from the drought
• They might have a big feast and collect all the fish and eat it.

The most interesting thing about Farming Fish by Adam Pryor

The most interesting thing that I learned from the book farming fish was that they actually feed the fish with food because I thought that the other fish would eat the little fish instead of the people finding white ant and giving it to them with food.

Summary- Farming fish- Farming fish is about when this boy named Richard describes what his Uncle did to the Island about fish. When it is fine weather or calm sea we go fishing to get some food. When the sea is rough they can’t go fishing and also if the weather is bad they can’t go fishing either.

My uncle (THE CHIEF)  decided to make little ponds so the people in the village could have fish at any time even if the weather was bad or the sea was rough. His people of the Island thought that he was crazy but it actually worked. So they could have fish at any time they wanted to.
